I received the Technaxx TX-100 for review and spent a few days testing it. Here are my impressions, including its strengths and limitations.

What Is the Technaxx TX-100?

Technaxx car Alarm with Charging Function TX-100

The TX-100 is a compact car alarm that uses a PIR sensor to detect movement inside the vehicle. It plugs into a 12–24 V cigarette lighter socket, which also charges its internal battery.

Its two USB ports provide power for other devices.

Main Features

  • Motion detection inside the vehicle.

  • A rechargeable 450 mAh battery.

  • Approximately six days of standby time, according to the manufacturer.

  • A 110 dB siren.

  • Two USB charging outputs, each rated at 5 V/1 A.

My Experience

The alarm was straightforward to use. Its siren sounded loud nearby, although I would not rely on hearing it from inside a building.

The USB outputs are useful for charging devices in the car. Battery life could be better, so keeping the alarm charged is important.

It detects movement inside the cabin and offers less protection than a permanently installed alarm.

Verdict

The TX-100 is worth considering as an affordable additional security measure. Its main advantages are simplicity and portability, but its limited detection coverage is important to understand.
