There are now quite a few really good choices for solar phone chargers and solar laptop charger. We are fond of the Voltaic and Goal Zero brands at our store in CT for portable solar charging.

A Solar Powered Mobile Phone Charger is nice because it's powered by Solar Energy Australia. It is useful in emergencies if my battery gets low. But it I still need the normal charger because I can't depend on the Solar Powered Charger alone.

This is such a good way for all of us to have option in using our mobile phones in an environment friendly way. I hope they make more of these in the coming months but in more affordable prices.

This is one of the easy and great ways to conserve energy. Mobile phones are one of target of environmentalists in its contribution to climate change. So, simply by minimizing our energy consumption in our mobile phones, we get to promote environment’s preservation.

I purchased a IKOE ME Mobile Power Station Solar Charger for my cell phone at a kiosk in Las Vegas this summer. I was excited about a solar charger, as i was on my way to Africa. I watched as the guy in the Kiosk showed me how i could charge my phone twice from the IKOE and recharge it solar when i was with out AC power to recharge the IKOE. I paid $75. When i got to Africa and used the first charge which drained the IKOE. I placed it in the sun as instructed and it NEVER recharged even after 8 hours in direct sun light. If you need a one time spare charge to carry with for an emergency the IKOE is adequate. As a solar charger.. it is a piece of CRAP! don’t waste your hard earned money. I feel cheated and lied to with no recourse. they have even taken there web page down. I won’t buy anything with there name on it ever again.

I purchased a iKOF Me Mobile Power Station Solar Charger for my cell phone. I was excited about the possibility of being able to charge my cell phone from a solar charger. I wanted it so that if my cell phone needed a charge on a hike, then I could have this as an emergency charger in the woods. I had the kiosk in Las vegas show me that it worked on my phone. I was able to charge my cell phone only once. After that the solar cells no longer charged up to be able to charge my phone. Our friends who also bought one had a similar problem. It only charged once, then died. Be Careful, you may have wasted your money, as we did. $70+ dollars down the tube and no way to contact the vendors.

This is an amazing tool. I’m dying to have one for myself but it’s a little over my budget. But I guess if the whole family could use it, the price could be leveled up to reasonable. Thanks for sharing.

This is a great invention. I am on the move all day long and my mobile charge now only lasts for about 5 hours when I am using it a lot.

Hello! Have been looking into renewable energy sources that i can just setup at home, and solar energy was a definitely on my checklist. Been looking into how solar works and even am wondering if i could just build one myself cos its damn expensive too. Well, thanks again for the post, really good insight into this area.
